	Don\'t fear the future. These are Powers have come to conjure the new musical golden age you\'ve been waiting for--one of insistence, intensity, and light. And yes, you can dance to it. These Are Powers are known for the dissonance of their early recordings, a cacophony of rhythms and industrial/electronic experiments that recalled Throbbing Gristle one moment, DNA the next. Once rule-breakers, the band is now rewriting those rules with a newfound focus: behold All Aboard Future. Exotic, abstract, hand-crafted sounds--made, found and electronically born--underscore each of these nine songs. Some wail from Pat Noecker\'s prepared bass; others stem from the idiosyncratic vocal and guitar style of Anna Barie. The two trade off vocal duties, and in the process dissonant sounds become melodies held together and torn apart in fits by Bill Salas\' electro-acoustic beats. At first listen, much of Salas\' rhythmic contribution sounds as if it could be pre-programmed, but these abstract rhythms are all performed live, interspersing nods to Timbaland with an appreciation for a car crash\'s metal-on-metal grind. Ferocious and unhinged, when These Are Powers perform live, it is a kind of spiritual journey, a futuristic fire dance hailing from Chicago and Brooklyn. The bass smolders, topping its low-end sub-rumble with a high-end flutter; abstract beats emanate from the electro-acoustic stand-up drum kit. And piercing through is Anna Barie\'s guitar while she and Noecker call and respond. Barie blasts through a litany of expressive guitar sounds and full-throated yelps and howls with a confrontational, explosive energy that often finds her entangled with audience members, leaping through the air, or sprawled on the floor in front of the stage. With All Aboard Future, These Are Powers have embraced collaborators, demonstrating their participating in not only a music community, but a community of ideas. The band invited 13 artists from Chicago, New York and Beijing to interpret All Aboard Future, either drawing from the musical ideas of the album or solely the album title. The artwork adorns the pages of All Aboard Future\'s accompanying booklet. Photography, painting, collage, text and more--the record becomes the collective expression of artists creating in many media. All Aboard Future was written and recorded in Chicago during the summer of 2008, and follows the band\'s 2007 debut LP, Terrific Seasons, and 2008\'s six song Taro Tarot. All Aboard Future is not just a new album from These Are Powers. It\'s a seismic shift. A new idea. And the sentiment is real. All Aboard Future!

	The Third Memory liefern das erste waschechte Screamo-Highlight in 2009 ab. Wer eine Schwäche für Ebullition- oder Witching Hour-Sachen hat sollte hier absolut ein Ohr riskieren. Heutzutage gehen nicht mehr viele Bands in diese Richtung. The Third Memory gehören dazu. Sie grenzen sich völlig von ihren Landsleuten ab. Und das noch viel stärker als auf ihrem Debüt. Diese düsteren, verzweifelten Melodien, diese bedrohlichen Gitarrenleads, dieser krasse, gern auch gedoppelte Schreigesang - hier erinnert vieles an die Zeit um 2000 rum. The Third Memory klingen allerdings nie wie ein Abklatsch. Eben weil sie diesen Sound in die Neuzeit transportieren. Wer seinen Screamo gerne mit elend langen Spannungsbögen oder Postrock-Einflüssen genießt, der ist hier definitiv an der falschen Adresse. Die Franzosen kloppen sich im no bullshit-Stil durch die 10 Songs hindurch. Zu einem Massaker wirds deswegen aber niemals, bringen die präsenten Gitarrenmelodien doch eine dicke Portion Eingängigkeit mit in den Sound. War das erste Album schon ziemlich stark, haben The Third Memory mit dem Nachfolger überraschenderweise noch einen draufgelegt.

	Die ersten 2-3 Durchläufe lie?en mir die Kinnlade schon gewaltig ins Bodenlose fallen, ist man doch einen solchen Sound in der Qualität aus heimischen Gefilden alles andere als gewohnt. Gro?artiger PostPunk mit einer herrlichen GitarrenIndieRock Kante und jeder Menge Hitpotential...da schlägt das Herz am rechten Fleck. Leicht rauer, rauchiger Gesang trifft auf breitflächigen Gitarrensound mit Mut zur Melodie. Keine Frage das einem sofort Namen wie Hüsker Dü, Guided By Voices oder auch Wipers in den Kopf schie?en. Sicherlich wird hier das Rad nicht zum zweiten mal erfunden, aber wer schafft das heute schon noch? Sicherlich ist das Album eine kleine Huldigung an einen Teil der musikalischen ?berzeugungstäter die uns alle über die letzten 10, 15...Jahre begleitet haben, aber was spricht dagegen wenn es so gut gemacht ist. Mit der Tonmeisterei in Oldenburg, sicherlich schon ein Begriff in der heimischen Szene der für Qualität steht, wurde auch ein Studio gefunden das den Sound hätte nicht besser umsetzen können. Insgesamt ein Album wie ein guter Freund dem man schon ewig zu kennen glaubt.

	Splitrelease dieser beiden Bands, die nicht nur durch dieses Album miteinander connectet sind. Bei Torpedo handelt es sich um die Backing Band von Tiger Lou und unter anderem Leute von Crystal Committee und Starmarket, bei Las Puertas um Rasmus Kellermann alias Tiger Lou himself und seine Frau Andrea. Somit ist auch klar das beide Bands auch musikalisch nicht soweit auseinander liegen können. Es gibt also zweimal exzellenten, schwedischen Pop zuhören, der bei Torpedo eher ausschweifend, melodieverliebt und ungemein harmonisch daherkommt. Las Puertas fassen sich da eher kurz und bündig, die Songs sind kaum länger als 2 Minuten und versprühen einen eher spröden Charm was wohl hauptsächlich in dem ein wenig schrammelig daherkommenden Sound begründet liegt.

	Von Comadre ist dies die nächste Veröffentlichung nach der grandiosen ''burn your bones''. Im großen und ganzen sind die sachen punkiger geworden, was der Qualität jedoch nicht im geringsten schadet. Sehr catchige songs mit einem absolut süchtig machenden Ohrwurm - Anfangstrack. Trainwreck. Nachdem sie ihre erste ep nach nur drei Monaten Bandexistenz einspielten, haben sie sich mit der nächsten Veröffentlichung ein bißchen mehr Zeit gelassen. Gut so, man kann nicht sagen das die Sachen besser sind als die alten,aber das wär ja auch so, als wenn orchid versuchen würden ihre ''Dance tonight revolution'' zu toppen.

	Refused are fucking dead und JR Ewing haben sich aufgelöst. Dennoch sind partiell beide Bands bei Traktor vorhanden. Natürlich kommt die Band auch aus Skandinavien, aus Schweden um genauer zu sein und es braucht auch keiner weiteren Erwähnung, dass die oben genannten Bands eine große Rolle beim Thema ''Einflüsse'' spielen. Eigentlich sollten ''Traktor'' auch in Zentraleuropa bekannt sein, da sich die Band schon im Jahr 2002 gegründet und mit diversen Touren auf sich aufmerksam gemacht hat. Auf ihrem dritten Album ''Sequence the sequence'' schrammelt und schreit die Band, was das Zeug hält. Wieder mal reicht der erste Song aus, um eine Band zu beschreiben. ''Lesson for Crimes'' beginnt mit einer eingehenden Melodie, die sich auf vier Akkorde beschränkt. Kleiner Break und der Gesang mit einem dicken Plus an Geschrei setzt ein. Und hier spielt der erste von den oben genannten Einflüssen eine Rolle. Dann geht es los: Der Sound wird hektischer und fängt an zu ''frickeln''. Egal, ob Math oder nicht, Traktor führen das aus, was bei JR Ewing in einigen Songs (Change Is Nothing - Everything Is) zu erahnen war. Immer wieder kommt es zu kleinen Breaks, welche die Melodien stoppen. Mit kurzen und ruhigen Passagen, befreien ''Traktor'' den Hörer für einen kurzen Moment und gaukeln ihm eine Welt voller Harmonie vor. Diese wird in den nächsten Sekunden vom Einsetzen der zweiten Gitarre und dem sich steigernden Sound zerstört - Ende. Diese Art von Musik dominiert auf ''Sequence the sequence''. Jedoch geben sich ''Traktor'' milde und zwei der elf Tracks sind ruhige, progressive, instrumentale Songs, in denen sich der Hörer fangen und von der Hektik ausruhen kann, bevor es in eine neue Runde geht. Der Norden Europas hat durch seinen eigenen Sound schon öfter von sich reden gemacht. Traktor leisten mit „Sequence the sequence'' einen positiven Beitrag. limitiert auf 500 Stück

	Die dritte Platte von Trend durchdringt den Grauschleier. Fassungslos über den aktuellen Wahnsinn aus Wirtschaft, Staat und Fernsehen, schauen die Texte genau hin. Der Trick dabei: Die Begriffe, mit denen dort sorglos jongliert wird, werden wörtlich verwendet und dadurch auf ihren eigentlichen Sinn abgeklopft. Der noch wichtigere Trick beim Transport der Trendthemen ist aber die Musik, die nach ganz vorne auf die Bühnen drängt. Es gibt drei bis vier klassische Punkbretter, und es gibt in den anderen Titeln Beimischungen von Chören, Elektronik und Wave-Einflüssen, die in Hits wie ''Zigaretten Ziehen'', ''Fräulein vom Amt'' oder ''AZ/DC'' münden. Das wirkt dann, als würde im Musikzimmer plötzlich das Licht angeknipst werden. Punk wird zu Pop, ohne Kompromisse dafür einzugehen.
