	"sonderfeld is an idiosyncratic german band lead by tom waits incarnation norbert sonderfeld. the group has established their unique style with several releases on veracity and moloko plus. always open for musical experiments, sonderfeld recorded a track for vol.3 of emphasolo. 200 accordéons is obviously influenced by the first two emphasolo releases' minimalism, but the band charges this minimalism with the deepness of the accordions' sound. we are lucky that three of the four members of sonderfeld play this instrument, so they were able to record this track live. harald "sack" ziegler has always worked against his increasing popularity. it's impossible to describe the personality of this renaissance man in a few sentences. his name has become a trademark which, oddly, he shows no desire to market. in his wonderfully inspired autumn lullaby september horn, ziegler demonstrates his prowess on french horn, an instrument few people know that he studied. in this track, melodies, chords and sounds slowly are faded into each other. compared with 200 accordèons this piece sounds light and airy, although a slow bass-figure keeps on marching through it. but both tracks muster a unique intensity." 	Verschweisst mit Bonustracks! Thanks to the Record Plant studio in NY, they were allowed to begin recording their third full length in the hopes that another label would pick up the bill. Unfortunately, no labels came through and the tapes were held by the studio as payment for the studio time. Those tapes were thought to be lost until the day Dan Taylor found them in a cardboard box in his attic in 1998. What came out of those sessions were 7 completed songs as well as all the original drum tracks to which Simeon later added the parts. Also discovered was the master of a song they had written for the soundtrack of an Italian film called 'The Lady And The Clown' which has never been released before now. In addition, an alternate version of 'Mad Man Blues' has been added to this release.

	Tip. German New Folk. Review: Dennis Welker und Falko Semrau gründeten 2003 SlamWEjam und wurden inzwischen durch Alex Günther am Bass verstärkt. Schon vor 2 Jahren präsentierten sie ihr Debütalbum "Talking to Different Creatures" und reichen nun den Nachfolger namens "Invisible" hinterher. Das ist erstaunlich puristisches Songwritertum, nur mit Gitarre, ab und zu Bass und Schlagzeug und fast immer mit verhaltenem mehrstimmigem Gesang. Fast schon zu harmonisch zupfen SlamWEjam auf ihren Saiten eine heile Welt herbei, von der wir alle träumen möchten - "If you trust me I trust you", und lullen uns ein in die schwebenden Melodien ihrer ruhigen Lieder. Die richtige Musik für einen Abend, den man in Gesellschaft einer schweigsamen Flasche Wein verbringt, dazu passt sanfter Kerzenschein und eine Portion Besinnung. "Akustikgitarrenbombastik" und "die Songs rocken" liest man in diversen Internetquellen über die Musik von SlamWEjam, aber das ist eindeutig überzogen formuliert. "Hippieeske Töne", "chilliger Gitarrensound" und "Stil von Simon & Garfunkel" sind auf jeden Fall treffendere Beschreibungen. Nur selten wird der Takt schneller, so etwa im instrumentalen "Pigs in Heaven" – ein sehr sympathischer Songtitel übrigens, denn wieso sollte Schweinen das Paradies verwehrt bleiben ... man denke an Orwells Animal Farm! Die Idee, ein Lied ohne Worte zu gestalten, ist für SlamWEJam gar nicht so schlecht, denn als ein Minuspunkt dieses Albums fällt leider auf, dass der englischsprachige Gesang manchmal nach dem klingt, was er ist, nämlich von deutschen Muttersprachlern interpretiert. Andere deutsche Bands können das natürlich auch nicht unbedingt besser, stellen sich aber nicht der Herausforderung, ihrem Gesang ein derartiges Gewicht zu verleihen. Hier haben die drei Kölner also auf jeden Fall noch Entwicklungspielraum für die Zukunft. Ansonsten freut man sich über die ungewohnt minimalistischen Songwriter-Töne aus deutschen Landen, denn wo die Szene jenseits des Kanals einen erfolgreichen Damien Rice oder Elliott Smith vorweisen kann, ist das Genre bei uns ja eher spärlich besetzt, aber das liegt bestimmt nicht an der mangelnden Zuhörerschaft. Unsichtbar: geheim, versteckt, verschleiert, schattenhaft, verkapselt, getarnt, verborgen ... Achtung, Aufmerksamkeit ist erwünscht, denn "Invisible" will entdeckt werden!
